Alcademy combines familiar platform game play elements
with an innovative new concept of brainteaser challenges
that must be solved solely by the player’s creative
interaction with the game world. The aged concept of
utilizing weapons and items to dispel enemies or tear
down obstacles has been thrown out, in favor of giving
the player control of the environment itself through the
discipline of alchemy. In Alcademy, the player’s tool
is the environment.
This demo level was designed and created by Team Alchemy
from the Art Institute
of Pittsburgh-Online Division. Students from 2
other schools (Drexel University
and
Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design) pitched in to
round out the
development
